Three Of A Kind–Fishing Machines!
Albert Martin of Martins Custom Structures in Gloucester Va. called me up several months ago and said he wanted to thank me. I said “for what?” Apparently someone overseas had been looking at my website ( so far 135 countries and every state in the union has logged on to jetskibrian.com, woo hoo!) they told Albert that they wanted three fishing rigged jet skis like Brian. They knew that they wanted to have the latest Sea Doo Supercharged model, other than that they told Albert to do anything and everything he could think of. Albert did not let them down.
He purchased three new Sea Doo RXT 260 pwc’s from Brian Barringer of Cycle City Corp in Newport News, Va. Brian delivered each ski to Albert’s shop and Albert started what would end up being a laborious process of fabrication. Due to the floating suspension and all of the things to be incorporated, each ski had to virtually be taken apart and reassembled.
Some of the features are underwater lighting, GPS/sounder, external fuel cell with foam and marine transfer pump , navigation lights, custom box for additional battery/ selector and fuse block. A remote control spot light, windshield and top, cooler rack with a Yeti cooler and small live well.
The extensive aluminum pipework with multiple rod holders is like a work of art, I am always in awe of the perfect welds that Albert and his son Chad create.
I stopped by his shop when they were completed and took a lot of pictures before they were to be shipped overseas.
I am glad that other people from all over are taking interest in Jet Ski Fishing. It is something I thoroughly enjoy and I encourage others to try.
I have been invited to speak at Bass Pro Shop in Hampton Va. on February 26th at 1300hrs. I will be talking about how to rig a PWC for fishing. One of my Yamha SUV 1200′s will be on display in the store the 24-26th.
Here are some pictures of Albert’s Three of Kind, they are One Of A Kind!
