My neighbor Julian and I have for several years been working on restoring oyster habitat along the bay point shoreline. This has been a been a learning experience for both of us. The last couple of years have given us some great results in aiding in the effort of restoring oyster populations in the Chesapeake Bay. We are a long way off, but it is good to see some positive results in our own backyard.
Julian recently gave the presentation at The Virginia Institute of Marine Science based on his experience as a Master Oyster Gardener and our shoreline restoration project. We are proud to be part of the overall effort to help the native oyster population in Chesapeake Bay tributaries.
Here is the presentation.
